Cable Conduits

For cables to run from location to location effectively, they often travel through a conduit. Conduits may be a physical piece of infrastructure that might be a duct in the ceiling of an office, a raceway under the floor, or any other physical space through which a cable can run safely.

Navigate to the Cable module of PCR-360. Main > Cable

Adding a Conduit

Navigate to the Cable Conduits Grid.

To add a new conduit to the Cable Conduit Grid, click the 'Add' button on the Grid Toolbar above the Grid. This opens a Conduit data entry form.

At this point, the User can fulfill the data fields appropriately (Note: only 'Name' and 'Conduit Type' are required fields). Options include 'From' and 'To' Locations, length and width, and a brief description.

Users can also add Access Points and Cables to the new conduit via the tabs in the data entry form. In both instances, Users can add either 'New' or 'Existing' Access Points and Cables by clicking either button, located on the Grid Toolbar above the Grid in each tab.

Once the User has satisfactorily defined the parameters of the new conduit, click 'Save New'. After the new conduit is saved, it appears on the original Cable Conduits Grid.

Editing a Conduit

Users can edit existing conduits by double-clicking on the conduit item in the Cable Conduits Grid.

This opens a Conduit data entry form with identical data fields to those discussed in the Adding a Conduit section. Assuming that all required fields have been fulfilled, click Save to make changes permanent.

Deleting a Conduit

To delete one or more existing conduit, highlight each item to be removed and click the Delete Selected button on the Grid Toolbar above the Cable Conduits Grid.
